All coated non-stick cookware has PFAS chemicals! Most non-stick pans have eliminated the PFOAs and some have eliminated PPTFs, but all non-stick surfaces still have chemicals from the PFAS family. This includes ceramic cookware. Cookware that was once termed as “non-toxic” is now deemed unsafe for human consumption. Even “nano-exposures” to these chemicals can be harmful to your health. The EPA has set maximum contamination levels in drinking water of 4 parts per trillion (not parts per million). Throw away all non-stick cookware!
There are several grades of stainless steel used to create cookware. Most are made from various alloys, including scrap metal (18/10). Dr. Herbert M. Shelton explains, “most stainless steel sold in stores is of such a nature to allow chrome and nickel to bleed into the foods as the salts and acids of the food react with the pot.” For cleanliness and safety reasons, your food should be cooked on only high-grade surgical stainless steel (sourced from the USA). No retail stainless steel cookware can protect your food from oxidation or sustain the temperature below 200F to preserve the nutrients.
This is the most porous of all metals. It can contain bacteria and rancid, carcinogenic heated oils in the pores. Some people believe that they can benefit from the iron from a cast iron pot. However, your body cannot assimilate the ferric iron from a cast iron pan. Ferric iron reacts with the peroxides in the body, producing free radicals (Brandywine Science Center).
The health concerns from enamelware come from the components used in manufacturing. Enamel is fused glass. Cadmium, boron, and sometimes lead are used in the making of glass. Studies have shown cadmium is one of the most dangerous heavy metals to consume.
Aluminum is lightweight, inexpensive, and a good heat conductor. This is why most commercial cookware is made of aluminum! However, aluminum is also highly reactive and will liberate metallic particles into your food. NOTE: Eat more at home and less at restaurants.
Health concerns regarding glassware arise from the components used in production, such as lead or cadmium. Boron and lead are used in making glass, enamel, and porcelain cookware. Studies have shown that consumption of lead can cause neurological damage, especially in young children.
The Virtual Cooking show is a 90 minute “watch and learn” experience via zoom. There are two basic parts to the program:
~ One of our Culinary Coaches will show you HOW to prepare your favorite meals using our cooking equipment. For example:
>>> Chicken cooked frozen to finish without skin or oil in 20 minutes...
>>> Bake a cake on top of the stove with NO oil and 5 different fruits and vegetables in 15 minutes!
>>> Lasagna from scratch without boiling the noodles in 18 minutes.
~ We will do an interactive safety test on your cookware and you will discover how much chemicals & metals are released from these pans.
After the Cooking show there will be time for Q&A and go over specifics of pricing and packaging.
If you haven’t experienced the meal, we are certain you will love the information and the food. When you also get one of the food processors without any purchase required... that’s like icing on the cake!
